'Caw caw,' the raven called.
It's big red eyes observed Amber while it circles in the air. She was amongst the everest trees that surrounds the territory. Her skin is almost as white as her gloves and boots. The colour contrasts with her thin black long hair that almost blends in with her cloak, held by a dragon symbol golden brooch. The cloak is laced with light purple at the edges. Her whole outfit ends to her knees, the rest is legs that are just as pale as her face. Even though it constantly snows, she never shivered once. She stands at one hundred and forty-seven centimeters.

This her usual hiding place, as she wanted to spot any visitors before they spot her. The sun beamed behind the castle's towers. Standing high; snow covering some of the rough dark grey stone always wailing from the lack of people. The whole place reeked of burned charcoal. There was only one tower that stood out though, it was made of pure white smooth marble. This is where the princess slept for the past couple centuries. She was the sorcerers threat to overthrowing his kingdom so he placed her here.

Amber was hoping this day to be over fast. This is her second century since she was sent here to guard the castle by the Dragon's Council. All day that raven have been reminding her why she was sent here, punishment. The raven landed on her shoulder, it made a sound which could be a shiver or snicker, 'Caw, to think they made the tower so noticeable. I always assumed it was to make your job harder but in truth that no tower is more fitting to this maiden.' Amber always wondered what she is like, the raven never described her and she is not allowed anywhere near the tower. But Amber is jealous of this princess as she escapes reality of captivity by eternal rest filled with hopeful pleasant dreams.  The bird twitched and flew off, 'Incoming! Caw!'

She momentary stared at the rocky ground under a sheet of snow. More reckless victims to kill off. They always sail to find this small yet dangerous island just to die early. No doubt these humans are expecting a fifteen foot lizard that breathes fire and flies. And they should as that are dragons true form, but they never expected one in a form of a 'human'.
Amber truly does not understand humans. They always seem to take risks to impossible tasks regardless of their limited abilities. Why even bother with risks? She has taken one with attempting to learn magic skills beyond her given talents, yet to the Dragon's Council that had crossed a line of a magical creature to a magic user.

Amber walked in out in clear view and waited for the arrival of the unwelcome guests. To her surprise she saw only one man walking towards her with the raven chasing him, 'Caw, stay away, precede at your own peril,' it warned. When the man saw Amber he was not amused and stopped.  There was a good wide distance between. The wind picked up and howled. Their hair danced to the sides; revealing each others foreheads.  The raven found its way back to Amber's shoulders. It tilted it's head for better view; eyes showed the mans reflection, 'How did ye find your way? Caw There is no way of sailing the seas on your own and easily get past the dangers between the shores and the forest.'
Amber glanced at the man with her clear emerald eyes. He stood around one hundred sixty-eight centimeters. He was extremely tan and soft brown eyes. His hair stood out, it is medium dirty-white. It nearly matches with his small sized steel lustrous armor that is trimmed with white gold. The man is still grinning, 'What danger? I did not cross any on my journey to here.'
'Caw you jest! Nonetheless, you have came upon one now! Turn back now! ' 'Never! I, Sir Samuel, have come here for my princess!' 'So be it, caw,' The raven flew to a better safer place to watch the scene.

'How are thou still alive?' The man arrogantly spoke as his attention turned to Amber, 'Dragons are amongst us!'

What inattentive fool. She looked into his naive eyes and sighed. It'll make a swift kill. She charged at him with no weapon nor emotion is showing. Samuel moved back a little as he sees her coming. Amber suddenly made a speed burst that went past Samuel. All he could see was her cloak dragging off at the side of his eyes. A quick turn from the dragon. A leap from the ground to oppose her direction, she strikes towards his back with her hand. A sudden pause, the next thing you see is Sir Samuel blocking the strike with his arming sword; flat and stabled by his other hand. The sword suddenly shattered and there was another pause.
She suddenly strikes once again before he reacted, this time it was direct and front. Her hand punctured his armor and his skin. Samuel spat out blood as he looked at the short opponent and grabbed her arm soaked in his blood. Why? He knows that he is in danger, why doesn't he run? Very well. She will teach him why a grasshopper should not try swimming, it is simply against nature. Samuel has no chance. Amber used her other hand to throw him off his balance and fall harsily onto the ground. He struggled to get up. Amber does not see why he is still attempting to defeat her. He is just drowning. Samuel weakly got up with his remaining strength and he shot her a stare.
That look pierced her heart. His eyes shows determination, hope, and faith. All odds against him and yet he keeps on going. He reminded her of herself, when she wanted to push the limitation.
Amber looked up at the sudden cloudy sky. Samuel found this a great opening and weakly charged at her with no hesitation. She didn't have to anything, his fist missed her and he fell on the ground.
Amber began walking away from the scene, the raven circled around her, laughing at the man's stupidity. She just kept on walking. It rested on her head and asked, 'Caw, where are thou going?' She flicked off the crow and continued, 'I'm leaving.' She said soft but firmly. 'Ye can't do that! It goes against the elders judgment!' The raven cawed all it can, 'I will have to report to them if ye do so!'
Amber just kept on walking. The raven had no choice but to fly to the other directing to alert them. She did not care, as she will attempt to swim as well. Her thoughts move towards the princess, Neither of us are captive any more, yer dreams awaits to come true with the next arrival of a Sir Samuel.
She grows more distance with the view of snow falls down for a celebration.

Author's Comments

Basic Reason Of Story:
A creative story for my english class...I wanted to go further (who says I can't now?!) but there was a 800-1000 word limit :(
So I made a typical ending

We are (or were now) working on concept of Journey--
out of the three themes I chose 'I'm leaving'

Original Planning:
It stinks because at that time I finally stopped myself limiting the pages of my writing...I wasn't planning to keep at my habit of trying to save page spare and keep it dragging on which always end up slaughtering my writting (as you see now!)

You always see the prince saving the princess from the dragon but you have ever been in that beast's position? Why do dragons guard the place instead of eating the madian BTW? :P

I wanted the princess to wake up, sir samuel to rescue the 'other' princess, the elder show up...ect ect... ;)
Action filled!!! :)

Critques encouraged
